Am I Still Working on a CD?

It's been many years since I released a full CD, and while Lori Cassidy of Green Door Studios and I have several songs "in the can" (not the bathroom, that is slang for recorded and ready to go), I am not ready to release a full album. I am considering a shorter project, and have had requests for a few of my songs. I hope when you check back next time, I will have more music for you to check out.

My Song Was Noted in a Newly Published Book

Exciting news! My cowriter, Donna Opfer, and I are honored that author Karen Cesario Rizzo has included the lyrics to our song, "She Hates the Color Yellow", in her new book. "Are You Living Your Life, or Surviving Your Past?" is a "A Medium's Story of the Ascension of her gifts through the healing of Her Past". It's a true story about abuse and how to survive it. The book has just been released and is available on Amazon.

The Legend of Me

That is the title of my sophomore CD, now in production. It has been a long time coming, and by now, these songs are all old friends of mine. If you have seen me perform in the past several years, chances are, you know most of the songs going on this CD. If you would like upcoming sneak peaks and early listens to the material, sign up for my email list on the "Contact" page of my website. I will be sending out emails in the coming months with links to as yet unfinished material.

Studio Work

It has been many years since I have released a full CD, but working in the studio last summer to complete the single Jack Sh*t reignited the desire to continue work on my sophomore project. My coproducer and engineer extraordinaire, Lori Cassidy, has been working hard at Green Door Studios to put together most of the music on the songs I have chosen for the CD. This project is sounding Country/Americana with some R&B tones in a couple of the songs.

It isn't easy to put together a CD of 10-12 songs when I…Read more

Jack Sh*t

I am happy to announce the release of "Jack Sh*t". I can hardly believe that I wrote this song 18 years ago. It has always been a fun bar/party song, and I have received many shots of Jack Daniel's while on stage singing this song. I didn't record the song in its original incarnation back in 1999 when I recorded "This Book Knows" because I felt that the explicit lyrics of the one song would take away from the flow of the entire project. But the internet and technology have changed things a lot in the past…Read more

Christmas Radio

Listen to Women of Substance Radio this holiday season for your Christmas tunes and holiday music. You may hear a song I cowrote with Donna Opfer and Gigi Swanson called "Three Wise Women".

I had 2 demoes recorded at Gator Hole Studios in Nashville for the songs "I Send One Up" and "That Girl". Check them out here.

Jack Sh*t

On June 26th, Guitarist Dave Ness of the Dave Ness Trio and I were in the studio at Green Door Studios with producer Lori Cassidy to record guitar tracks on a single release of "Jack Shit", which is the original version of the song. I decided to tone down the original on my first release of the song back in 1999, on the "This Book Knows" CD, but it is long past time to get the original out there. I'm still loving my Jack!

Upcoming Writers Round

For the upcoming July 14th event at Francesca's, I am looking forward to performing for the first time with local songwriters Greg Wright, and meeting and performing with Gray. If you are around for the other 2nd Saturday's of the month, check out the performers for Live and Unplugged events.

"The Color Yellow" Published!

A few weeks ago I signed a non-exclusive single song contract for with Winner's Circle Country Music Publishing out of Texas. They signed "The Color Yellow", a song I cowrote with Donna Opfer. The song is about healing from abuse over time and trying to find forgiveness. WCCMP will try to partner the song with a non-profit organization.
